Welcome Twenty Nineteen

The chilly wind bites
And the water sends a shiver.
It’s the time of the year
When we stop and consider;
All that was done
In the year gone by;
What all went right,
What didn’t and why.

Tonight as we gather
For the fun and games,
Ought to spare some thought
For forever lost names.
Walking hand in hand,
We have come a long way;
Its a time to relax,
To dance and to sway.

As the new year beckons
Its a time to be proud;
Of the lessons newly learnt
And the new fields ploughed,
Of all the new places seen
And the new friends made,
‘Twas a hell of a year
All the things done and said.

As the clock strikes twelve
And the sparks light the skies;
We shall welcome twenty nineteen
With new dreams in our eyes.
To get to new heights,
Or to pursue new passions,
Its the time of the year
To make new resolutions.

Let us wish this year
Not to have a fixed scheme;
Love your life as it comes,
Let it flow like a stream.
With hearts full of love
And minds ever keen;
With a silent prayer,
Welcome twenty nineteen.
